2010 Miss Collierville Judges

Bari Eason
From the Field of Communications: Bari Eason is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree
in Communication Studies and a master’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations. A former Miss University of
Alabama, she was a top ten finalist in the Miss Alabama pageant, winning both swimsuit and interview preliminaries.
She also won the state community service award at Miss Alabama. Bari was also a member of her university’s speech
and debate team and won a national championship for the university in public speaking. Today, Bari resides in
Nashville, TN and serves as Director of Marketing and Development for the General Commission on United Methodist
Men – a global ministry of the United Methodist Church. Bari has been featured in the book Profiles of Success; named
as one of 20 emerging leaders in the field of public relations. She is a member of the Nashville Kiwanis Club, serves on
the board of the Alabama Healthcare Hall of Fame and was named a Nashville Emerging Leader.

Janas Jackson
From the Field of Community Service: Janas Jackson has been featured in O, The Oprah Magazine and other
publications for her community efforts in the areas of diversity, youth development, education, and women’s issues.
Her community involvement activities include serving as past chairman of the board of Volunteer Memphis and as a
board member of the Goodwill Boys and Girls Clubs. The former Director of Corporate Communications for Memphis
Light, Gas & Water Division, today she serves as Program Advisor in the Global Citizenship Department at FedEx. As a
freelance writer, her words have been used to pay tribute to such dignitaries as The Dalai Lama, former Vice President
Al Gore, Myrlie Evers-Williams, Julius “Dr. J” Erving, and blues legend B. B. King. Her other accomplishments include
authoring an internationally-distributed book, serving as a writer for the renowned motivational speaker Les Brown; and
for civil rights activist and actress, the late Yolanda King (daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King). Her educational background includes a Master of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal arts from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Jason Lowe
From the Field of Business: Collierville businessman Jason Lowe is a quality assurance coach and call center analyst.
An avid cook and small business owner, Jason owns his own catering company. An advocate for community service,
Jason volunteers his time with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Target House. He has judged Miss America preliminary pageants on the local and state level in Utah, Washington D.C., and throughout the South. A resident of Holly Springs, MS, Jason is the proud father of two boys, Nick and Brandon.

Sarah Harris
From the Field of Talent: A native of Forrest City, Arkansas, Sara Harris was crowned Miss Arkansas 2000. She traveled throughout Arkansas promoting her community service platform of music and education. A talented vocalist, Sarah competed in the 2000 Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City. She is a graduate of Arkansas State University with a degree in journalism and political science.

Gerald Odom
From the Field of Business: A business administration graduate of Lipscomb University and a resident of Nashville,
Gerald Odom currently serves as vice president of Bank of America in the role of consumer market manager. No
stranger to pageants, he served as the assistant executive director of the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Pageant and
currently serves on the working committee for the Miss Kentucky Scholarship Pageant. He also serves as the judge’s
chairman of the America’s National Teenager Pageant. He has judged pageants in 23 states in the Miss America and
Miss USA programs. He serves as a delegate to the Miss America Pageant each year. He is active in his community
serving on various boards and civic organizations.

Lauren Kitchens
From the Field of Communications: Lauren Kitchens is a nationally recognized on-air radio personality having worked
with American Family Radio and as the morning radio personality for the No. 1 Christian radio station in Los Angeles.
Lauren received undergraduate degrees in Music and Communications from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK and
her Master’s Degree in Communications from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. Her 16-year background in
Media includes hosting a Morning Show on the Family Channel, TV News Reporting and on-air radio shows for Salem
Radio Network, Clear Channel Communications, Sony Worldwide and American Family Radio. Lauren has taught full
time in the School of Communications at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN and was an adjunct Prof. in
the Communications Dept. at Azusa Pacific University in California. Lauren appeared as a repeated guest on Politically
Incorrect, received The Arvella Schuller Award from the Crystal Cathedral and hosted TBN with John Tesh. A renowned vocalist, she was a runner-up in the Miss Mississippi Pageant and in the Top 10 at the Miss Virginia Pageant.
